We talk a lot about THE GOSPEL at church.
“Gospel” basically means “good news.”
The gospel is the overarching message of the whole Bible.
And Jesus Christ is the good news that the Bible is all about.
He is the only begotten Son of God.
He is the only mediator between God and man.
He became a man, yet did not sin.
He perfectly fulfilled God's Law.
He suffered and died on the cross for the salvation of sinners.
He was buried, and rose again the third day.
He ascended to His Father, where He lives to make intercession for His people.
He is the only Mediator, the Prophet, Priest and King of the Church, and Sovereign of the Universe.
He is the Savior of all who trust in Him alone for eternal life.
The Apostle Paul summed it up like this:
"I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which you are saved, if you hold fast to the word which I preached to you . . . that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4 NKJV)
This is a big deal:
Your eternal destiny hinges on your response to this Good News.
You must believe and trust that Jesus did this for you.
